For our client, a leading company that provides EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) solutions for large-scale PV power plants, we are looking for an Engineer HV networks and substations.
Description
Supporting the commissioning process for newly constructed or upgraded substations, ensuring all systems are installed, tested, and functioning according to design specifications;
Supervising and accepting the work of HV subcontractors and substations during construction;
Implementing commissioning plans and procedures, including coordination with contractors, testing teams, and stakeholders;
Conducting inspections and functional tests of substation equipment (e.g., transformers, switchgear, protective relays) to verify proper operation;
Overseeing the daily operation of electrical substations, ensuring equipment functions as intended and meets operational performance targets;
Monitoring system performance, analyzing operational data, and implementing corrective actions to maintain reliable service;
Coordinating with grid operators, SCADA systems, and other stakeholders to ensure efficient load management and system reliability;
Providing troubleshooting and technical support during abnormal operations, outages, and incidents;
Developing and implementing preventive and predictive maintenance plans for substation equipment, ensuring long-term reliability;
Scheduling and overseeing routine maintenance activities, including testing and inspection of transformers, breakers, and protective relays;
Identifying and resolving equipment malfunctions, failures, or issues, providing immediate corrective measures to minimize downtime;
Ensuring accurate maintenance records are maintained, and that all procedures are in line with regulatory and industry standards;
Managing spare parts inventory, tools, and materials needed for maintenance activities.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field;
Strong knowledge of electrical networks and substations;
3+ years of experience in electrical substation design, engineering, or maintenance;
Strong knowledge of electrical substation equipment such as transformers, circuit breakers, switchgear, and protection/control systems;
Familiarity with power system analysis tools;
Strong understanding of relevant codes and standards;
Fluency in English and Romanian language;
Driving license.
