Senior International Accountant

For our client, a multinational company in the global insurance industry, we are looking for a Senior International Accountant.
Descriere
Defining, developing, and updating the Group data model, including the Group accounting manual, related guidelines, chart of accounts, reporting hierarchies, and data validations;
Managing and monitoring ongoing operations, including quarterly closing and reporting processes, in collaboration with cross-functional teams;
Supervising the accurate and timely reporting of financial data in compliance with IFRS and other relevant regulations;
Reviewing and analyzing financial reports for senior management and stakeholders to ensure consistency, accuracy, and completeness, while implementing internal controls;
Providing technical accounting expertise and guidance on adopting new accounting principles and changes to reporting standards;
Collaborating with external auditors, preparing audit documentation, and addressing inquiries;
Mentoring and guiding junior accounting staff;
Supervising special projects, such as system implementations and process improvements, with a focus on efficiency and automation, while supporting the implementation of CFO processes.
Cerințe
A strong academic background, ideally with a master’s degree in accounting, finance, economics, or a related field;
Comprehensive knowledge of insurance accounting processes, general ledger functions, and financial statements;
Solid understanding of international accounting standards (IAS/IFRS);
Familiarity with accounting data models, SAP GL/Tagetik, and master data management processes;
Prior experience in the insurance industry, particularly with roll-out programs and accounting transformation projects;
A thorough understanding of insurance regulations; knowledge of Solvency II prudential requirements (e.g., MVBS, QRTs, etc.) is a plus;
A minimum of 6-7 years of experience in accounting or finance;
Fluent in English.
